Serve Our Church Family
We send notes and cards to those who are experiencing illness, injury, surgery or the death of a loved one. Cards are also sent to the home-bound to maintain a church community bond. Communicare lets parishioners know they are cared and prayed for by the Pastoral Care Team Ministry and the parish. If you like sending notes, please contact Judy Landeck at email@example.com.
We also make telephone calls during the year to New Members, Newly Baptized, Newly Married, and those adults Newly Confirmed. At least yearly, this ministry will telephone all the names in our church data base. The mission of this ministry is to keep in touch with our parishioners, new and old. This includes directing our new members into a ministry they would like to be involved in, and with our long time parishioners, asking them if they have any needs or concerns at this time. If you would like to help out in this ministry, please contact Ellen Shoemaker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Funeral Care and Hospitality Ministry calls on the family or individual at the death of a loved one to express condolences and assist with hospitality arrangements after the funeral. Ministry leaders speak with the family about what reception arrangements are desired, whether in their home or at the church. These arrangements are coordinated with Daughters of the King, the parish administrator and clergy who are involved in the funeral service.
If you are interested in assisting with funeral receptions, please get in touch with Debbie Kremers at email@example.com or David Schlomer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lay Eucharist Minister
Our Eucharistic Visitors are very dedicated, taking communion to our shut-ins after the liturgy on Sundays. They give a listening ear and show caring and compassion to those they are serving. If you have need of this ministry, on a short- or long-term basis, or would like information on becoming a Eucharistic Visitor, please contact The Reverend Dr. David Cox at (913)236-8600 ext. 325 or email@example.com.
We offer Durable Medical Equipment to our parishioners. We have a collection of different sized walkers, 4-prong canes, 3-wheel walker with brakes, two sets of crutches, three padded shower chairs, one bedside commode with accessories, one pair large foam boots, two tub assists, and utensils for use in stroke related assistance. Parish Prayer Chain is comprised of parishioners who have committed to pray every day for those who are on our weekly Intercessory Prayer List, plus any other prayer requests that are received via e-mail during the week. Prayers are given for parishioners, relatives and friends, travelers, the departed, and military personnel serving in areas of conflict.
All parishioners are welcome to join the Prayer Chain or to pray on their own. Copies of the Intercessory Prayer List can be found on the bulletin board outside the church office or in the Narthex.
To add your concerns to the prayer list call the church office: 913-236-8600 or sumbit a prayer request through the link to our prayer request form located on our home page in the bottom left corner.
To join the Prayer Chain, contact Janet Smith at email@example.com.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
The Prayer Ministry Team is a group of volunteers who are available to pray with others for their personal concerns as Eucharist is offered during the 8:45 and 10:45 worship services. Prayer Ministers are located in Cloud Chapel. If you feel called to support others through the power of prayer, please consider becoming a Prayer Minister. All Prayer Ministry Team members go through special training. Contact Gary Richards, firstname.lastname@example.org.
