SUMMARY:Stations of the Cross for Families
DESCRIPTION:This afternoon observance of the Stations of the Cross is designed for families with children.  It includes scripture and prayer like the early morning observance\, but also includes the energy and rambunctiousness that young children can bring.  This observance is for families with children of all ages.  Together\, we will remember the events that led up to Jesus’ crucifixion\, focusing on what it means for us to love and serve one another in Jesus’ name.

SUMMARY:Stations of the Cross
DESCRIPTION:This facilitated observance of the Stations of the Cross is an interactive\, small-group version of this meaningful ritual.  Participants will pray and read scripture as they remember the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion\, “travelling” from one event to the other within the nave.

SUMMARY:Maundy Thursday Worship
DESCRIPTION:This service is named for the Latin word for “commandment.”  On this night we remember Jesus’ final supper with his disciples and his commandment to us to love one another as he has loved us.  The Maundy Thursday service is the first day of the Easter “Triduum” (“three days”) that runs through Good Friday and Holy Saturday.  Together\, these three days conclude our Lenten preparation for Easter before we celebrate the resurrection at the Easter Vigil on Saturday night.  The journey through these three days is a powerful and dramatic reminder of our relationship to Christ and of the life to which we have been called.

SUMMARY:Compline
DESCRIPTION:The ancient office of Compline derives its name from a Latin word meaning ‘completion’ (completorium). It is above all a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day. \nWhen the COVID pandemic prevented in-person gatherings\, we began offering the service of Compline online (via Zoom) on Wednesday evenings at 8:00. The service can be found on pages 127-135 in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) and can be viewed or printed online. It includes the Confession\, the Lord’s Prayer\, a psalm\, a scripture reading from the Daily Office\, a hymn shared from a You Tube video\, and a few prayers.   \nThe service lasts about 15 minutes long and includes an opportunity to chat briefly beforehand. Participants are asked to mute their microphones when the service begins and may follow the service by repeating the responses and common prayers. \nLink to the online BCP: https://www.bcponline.org/DailyOffice/compline.html \nInterested persons may contact Gary Richards at richgary@swbell.net with any questions. \n  \n
